Dr. Dave Hornig, VP of Product Development and CTO
Dave has 20+ years of experience in all aspects of software architecture, design, development and deployment.
He received a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Harvard University in 1976. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1984, for “Automatic Distribution and Tuning on a Network of Personal Computers.” At CMU he also worked with acoustic signal processing and a distributed sensor network.
At Carnegie Group from 1984-1997 Dave led several projects including expert system diagnostics, knowledge based development tools, neural networks, and a variety of telecommunications technologies. Later as a consultant to the MAYA Group, Dave did Java development including cartography, low-level graphics packages and a scripting language compiler, and captured in documents many of the visionary design concepts that had been an informal part of the culture. Since 2000 Dave has led Touchtown’s engineering group.
Dave likes to do amateur carpentry, spoil his cats, and dance traditional folk dances.
